Before you begin:
How to create a Roofr proposal template
1) Create template
- Navigate to the Proposals section of your Roofr dashboard
- Select the Templates tab
- Click New template
- Name the template (this name will not be visible to your customers)
2) Edit option(s)
- Name the option (this name will be visible on the final proposal)
- Click Edit Option
- Click Add item from catalog to include items in this template
- Add all the items you want to include every time you create a proposal with this template
💡 Items must exist in your catalog in order to add them to a template. You can not edit catalog item details at the template level.
- Click Save to finalize option.
- Add an estimate option if desired by clicking the + next to Estimate in the side menu
💡You can select to add a new option manually or import an existing template to be included as an additional option. Your customers can choose which option they would like to purchase when viewing a finished proposal.
- Add items to your additional option as needed
3) Adjust estimate settings
- Select your profitability type (margin or markup)
- Toggle on/off visible line item details (subtotals, quantity and/or unit prices)
- Toggle on Multi-select options if you would like your customer to be able to select more than one option when signing
- Toggle on Offer financing if you wish to offer financing on the proposals created from this template.

4) Add proposal sections
- Click the + button at the bottom of the left hand menu
- Photo section (optional): Add images directly to the template, or leave the section empty to add unique photos for each individual proposal
- PDF attachments (optional): Include standard documents like terms of service, warranties, or company brochures that will appear in every proposal using this template

Custom text section (optional): Add personalized content such as payment schedules, project timelines, or special terms
- Use dynamic fields in text sections to automatically pull in information from the associated job; including customer, job and insurance details
5) Edit cover
- Click Cover on the left hand menu
- Select or upload cover photo
- Edit title (optional)
